Our Childhood Educators

OUR TEAM

Staff at the Tartine et Chocolat Daycare have received education and training in early childhood education, as well as training in working with children who have special needs. Educators have earned valid diplomas in Early Childhood Education, or are currently studying and meet the provincial requirements for an assistant position.

If needed, qualified Francophone substitute staff will take over when existing staff are absent due to illness, vacation or professional development. This is to maintain the ratio of one educator for 8 children required for this program in accordance with regulation for Child Care Licensing, given the size of our daycare facility.

Karine Grand Maison | MANAGER & EDUCATOR

Hi, my name is Karine Grand Maison and I am originally from the City of Trois-Rivières, in the province of Quebec. I graduated in early childhood education and special needs education at Collège Laflèche.

I have had the opportunity to work at Tartine et Chocolat since October 2012 and I have been the manager since September 2018. I have always loved working with children because they help us to keep a young heart, a lively curiosity and to be present in each moment. In the classroom, I use my passions (outdoors, art, sports, music and language) to provide enriching educational experiences. In early childhood, children learn from us as much as we learn from them. What I love about our daycare is the openness and cultural sharing between our families. It gives each year a different flavour that is so enjoyable. Finally, I consider myself lucky to be able to do a job that I am passionate about in my mother tongue.

Myriam Karetti-Cabon | EDUCATOR

My name is Myriam Karetti-Cabon, I am a graduate from Northern Light College in Early Childhood Education, and I have been working at the daycare since June 2020. I am from France and have chosen Canada to become my home since 2011.

I have a degree in tourism, a profession that allowed me to meet people from different cultures and create experiences. My passion for travel and open spaces led me to settle in British Columbia, where I met my husband and started my family. Mother of two young children, I decided to become an Early Childhood Educator. I am excited to practice my profession here at Tartine & Chocolat. Working with children always amuses me because they have so much potential and a great imagination. I enjoy playing and learning with them. My goal is to provide a safe and welcoming environment for your children. In this nurturing environment,  they will feel comfortable to express themselves and learn.
